About MoneyLeaks

MoneyLeaks is a free budgeting tool built in New Zealand. You export a statement from your internet banking, drop the file in, and within seconds you see where your money goes, which subscriptions and bills you are paying, and practical ways to spend less, each with an estimate of what it could save you over a year.

Why we built it

Most people know roughly what they earn but have only a vague idea of where it all goes. Traditional budgeting means typing every expense into a spreadsheet or app, and most of us give up after a few weeks. Your bank already has a complete record of your spending. MoneyLeaks turns that record into a clear picture in one step, with no account to create and nothing to type in.

Privacy comes first

Bank statements are sensitive. That is why MoneyLeaks reads your file inside your own web browser and never sends it anywhere. There is no server that receives your transactions, no database, and no account. The statement tool page is configured to block outgoing data connections, so it cannot upload your statement even by accident. When you close the tab, the data is gone. You can read the details in our privacy policy.

Made for New Zealand

The tool recognises statement exports from the main New Zealand banks, understands NZ shops and billers (supermarkets, power companies, insurers, telcos), shows amounts in NZ dollars, and lets you view your spending per week, fortnight or month to match how you are paid. Savings suggestions point to independent NZ resources such as Powerswitch, Gaspy, Sorted and MoneyTalks.

What it is not

MoneyLeaks is general information, not financial advice. The categories and savings estimates are automatic and approximate. For advice about your own situation, speak to a licensed financial adviser, or contact a free financial mentor through MoneyTalks on 0800 345 123.

Who we are

MoneyLeaks is made by the team behind MyTinyCalculator, a collection of free everyday calculators. We are independent and are not affiliated with any bank. The site is supported by advertising on our guide pages; there are no ads on the page where you analyse your statement. Questions or suggestions are welcome on our contact page.
